Relocation of Children Attorney in St. Louis
Your children are what matters most. Keep them close.
Missouri law places restrictions on parents who wish to relocate his or her principle residence where shared children reside before, during or after divorce, separation or custody changes. Written notice must be presented to the non-custodial parent prior to the intended move. After 60 days and upon no objection by the non-custodial parent, the custodial parent may relocate. Non-custodial parents have 30 days to contest a proposed move upon receipt of the notice.
It is not uncommon for one party to want to move to another jurisdiction before, during or after divorce proceedings. At Avioli Law, we advise clients on compliance with existing state and federal law, including the tax implication of the move and fighting to maintain effective and meaningful custodial relationships with children. Avioli Law also litigates in court to oppose or support a client's wish to relocate with their children during or after a divorce.
